Upgrading from windows vista to windows 7 home premium

Some months ago, my laptop (Dell) fell down and the HDD stopped working.

I had insalled windows server on it temporarily, and it did well, and continues to do well.

Yesterday, I found the upgrade DVD that dell had sent me and I wanted to revert my laptop back to it’s original state.

While I was doing the upgrade using Dell’s DVD, I asked for me to choose one of two options: a) to upgrade current os or b) install afresh.  I chose the install fresh on a second partition of 100 gb hdd.  It installed all and registered perfectly well.

Now, I have both windows server and windows 7 home premium on my laptop, though I use w7 mostly.

Well, I made one mistake.  Before windows 7 installation, i by mistake uninstalled the domain controller in windows server 2008 and it removed everything that i had includig some of the hard labor of many hours of coding for an auto inventory for one of my clients.  I lost it all, and have to do it all over again.  That is a hard pill to swallow.
